The solar pool ionizer uses solar technology to produce an electrical current between the spring and copper anode. This reaction generates copper ions in the water. The copper ions kill and control the growth of algae and other microorganisms. The larger copper anode produces 25% more ions and will last longer than other solar pool ionizer models which saves on costs. Depending on the size of your pool, after a few weeks of using the ionizer, you will have built up enough ions in the water to where you can start backing off on adding chlorine while still maintaining proper chlorine levels.
