For Pentair EasyTouch® and IntelliTouch® Systems

Whether you are upgrading from White LED lights to a full-color experience or you’ve just installed our lights and need to verify they are synced correctly, follow this guide.

Your Pentair system needs to be told exactly what kind of light it is controlling so it can send the correct "commands" to change colors.

Phase 1: The One-Time System "Handshake"

Perform these steps at your outdoor main control panel.

For Pentair EasyTouch® Systems

  1. Press Menu.

  2. Press Down to Settings and press Select (Right Arrow).

  3. Press Down to Circuit Func. and press Select.

  4. Find your light circuit (usually labeled Pool Light or Aux 1) and press Select.

  5. The Fix: If it says "Generic" or "Light," your system doesn't know it's a color light. Scroll until you see INTELLIBRITE.

  6. Press Select to save, then press Menu 3 times to exit.

For Pentair IntelliTouch® Systems

  1. Press Menu > Setup > Advanced.

  2. Select Circuit Functions.

  3. Find your light circuit name.

  4. The Fix: Change the "Circuit Function" from "Light" to INTELLIBRITE.

  5. Press Save/Done until you return to the main screen.

Why "IntelliBrite"? Our lights are designed to speak the IntelliBrite "language." Selecting this setting unlocks the hidden color menus in your Pentair app and panel.

Phase 2: Verifying Your App Connection

Once the panel is updated, your app (ScreenLogic or Pentair Home) needs to refresh to show your new features.

  1. Refresh the App: Close the app completely on your phone and reopen it.

  2. Verify the Menu: You should now see a "Lights" or "Colors" tab that wasn't there before (or has new options).

  3. Test a Color: Select a specific color like "Blue" or "Magenta."

    • What to expect: You will hear a "clicking" sound from your outdoor panel. This is normal! The system is pulsing the power to find that specific color for you.

Troubleshooting & Pro-Tips

"My lights are different colors (Out of Sync)!"

If one light is Red and the other is Green, they just need to be "reset."

  • In your app or panel menu, look for the Sync command.

  • This sends a long pulse to all lights, bringing them back to the start of the color cycle (usually White or Blue) so they move together from then on.

"How do I dim the lights?"

Pool automation systems don't use traditional dimmer sliders. To achieve a "dimmed" effect:

  • Open your color menu and select "Warm White" or "Cool White." * These modes use a softer LED blend that provides a beautiful, subtle glow compared to the high-intensity "Bright White" setting.

"I select a color but nothing happens."

Go back to Phase 1. If the circuit is still set to "Generic" or "Light," the system is only sending a simple ON/OFF signal. It must be set to IntelliBrite to send color commands.
